Why so serious?: The Lunar Chronicles Dream Fan Movie Cast

Hello, so here I am again with another fan cast, this time for Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles series. I've read the four books - Cinder, Scarlet, Cress and Winter - and LOVED IT A LOT. The series has somehow connected four classic fairytales into one story set in the far future. It's a mix of sci-fi, romance, comedy, and adventure. They say that the movie rights have been sold and the screenplay is done, so I can imagine the movie being like Star Wars / Star Trek fused with Reign / Merlin. This fan cast was made according to the guide of the character's appearances from the author Marissa Meyer herself here http://www.marissameyer.com/blogtype/a-guide-to-lunar-chronicles-character-traits/ . Fun fact: Marissa Meyer used to write over 50 Sailor Moon fanfictions and even cosplayed as the characters! So without further ado, here's my idea of how the cast should look like:

Liza Soberano as Linh Cinder / Princess Selene Channary Jannali Blackburn / Cinderella

I chose her because like Cinder, Liza Soberano is half-Asian and half-Caucasian with tan skin. Plus, she's only 18! Can definitely see her pull off being a cyborg and later on the Queen of Luna hurhur. I included that gif to see how she looks with full-on glamour.

Kim Jongin @ EXO's Kai as Emperor Kaito

Do you know that I originally started reading the series because the author tweeted that she had EXO's Kai as the exact image of Emperor Kaito. ~~didn't regret it.~~ I mean, look at him with the hoodie and the shirt and tell me that he's not the real life ruler of the Eastern Commonwealth coming to visit Cinder's workshop in New Beijing.

Zendaya Coleman as Iko

Funny how Zendaya will only be appear on the third book adaptation onwards only as before this, Iko's android self is ancient and later on she turns into a spaceship lel. If I were Iko, I would also be ecstatic to be in a human android body like Zendaya. Thank you for that, Captain Thorne.

Alina Kovalenko as Scarlet Benoit / Red Riding Hood

No comment. She's perfect as the impulsive, brave, and frank Scarlet from France.

Liam Hemsworth as Wolf / Alpha Ze'ev Kesley

Brown hair that tends to spike in all directions? Check. Super muscular? Check. Able to look hungry and might just shred you to pieces? Pretty convincing for me.

Chris Pine as Captain Carswell Thorne

Star Trek might have influenced me too much on this choice as Chris Pine acted as the latest Captain Kirk. The appearance and mannerisms are all similar to our very own sassy and sarcastic Captain Thorne. The age might be a bit older but come on, someone who's served in the military and with a criminal record in four countries and was serving jail time can't possibly be just 19.

Elle Fanning as Crescent Moon / Rapunzel

Such perfect hair as Cress. Elle Fanning has that pale and frail look that suits Cress who haven't walked much or seen much sunlight being stuck in the satellite for seven years as the universe's greatest hacker and programmer.

Amandla Stenberg as Princess Winter Hayle-Blackburn / Snow White

The fairest of them all. Who else to play the most beautiful girl on Luna than Amanda Stenberg? I just hope she'll also be able to play the part of Winter as the most insane person on Luna as well. I'm hoping Marissa Meyer's next book will be about her recovering..

Jamie Campbell Bower as Jacin Clay

Ah, this tsundere hero. I think he has proved himself acting well as a guardian (?) and protector of the heroine in City of Bones. Not to mention that his appearance and character suits Jacin.

Scarlett Johansson as Queen Levana Blackburn
